Location: Main Campus * Assess the needs of the walk-in public by answering financial aid questions and/or referring specific concerns to other professional office staff.

* Process documents and ensure accurate intake of all financial aid forms as they relate to Federal Verification, Federal Work Study, Federal Student Loans, and all other Financial Aid areas

* Determine a students eligibility for internal book vouchers and relaying information to the appropriate campus personnel.

* Direct student interactions between KCKCC Financial Aid Office and other internal offices as it pertains to student enrollment (i.e.: Business Office, Admissions, Registration and Advising).

* Lead prospective and current students through the completion process of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and guide them to other staff when appropriate.

* Advise students in the preparation of their Federal Student identification (ID) and troubleshoot student Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) problems.

* Distribute financial aid information and publications to the public and to others on campus.

* Respond promptly to telephone calls and e-mail inquiries as well as assist in the management of the general office e-mail box.

* Organize and scan documents into batches and link documents into document imaging system for the entire financial aid office.

* Manage the receipt and delivery of office mail and faxed documents, including keeping track of returned mail.

* Prepare Financial Aid Office mailings to students on an ongoing basis.

* Manage and order needed documents and other office supplies for the Financial Aid Office.

* Request missing or incomplete documents from students.

* Develop a clear knowledge of both federal and institutional policies as they relate to the student financial aid and enrollment process.

* Represent the Student Financial Aid Office at various campus and public events.

* Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding environment, supporting department goals.

* Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse campus community in a courteous and professional manner necessary.

* Ability to work with minimal supervision in cooperation with other office staff.

* Ability to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty, students and public.

* Must be able to handle difficult situations with diplomacy.

* Must possess accurate keyboarding skills and be able to enter data efficiently and accurately.

* Ability to maintain student confidentially in accordance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

* Other duties as assigned.

* Ability to work well with individuals with varying personality traits, abilities, and capabilities, both on the telephone and in person.

* Experience in troubleshooting and investigating unusual situations helpful.

* Must have the ability to organize work well and operate with composure under the pressure of deadlines.

* Excel at attention to detail.

* Proficiency in operating a computer and Microsoft Windows operating system software.

* Associate or higher degree required with two (2) years of relevant experience **-OR-**

* High School Diploma/GED with at least four years of relevant experience.

* Employment is dependent on successful access to the National Student Loan Data System and other relevant financial aid systems.

* Must be in good standing on all federal student loans or not owe an overpayment on any federal grant.

* Bachelors or higher Degree

* Experience working in a community college environment

* Bilingual in Spanish

* Three (3) professional references with phone number and email addresses are required.

* A college selection committee is responsible for application review and interviews. The final candidate(s) selected to be hired will be made by the hiring manager.
