The Part-time Family Engagement Assistant supports day-to-day functions of our program. This position will work closely with the Program Leadership to support the organization through a variety of administrative functions for approximately 15 hours per week. The right candidate will excel at working as part of a small team, while effectively managing multiple administrative projects and tasks and providing empathetic and strengths-based support to families facing multiple barriers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work closely with the 2Gen Program Manager to ensure caregiver outcomes are achieved
* Develop trusting, supportive relationships with families and caregivers of our program youth
* Work collaboratively with program staff and our families to identify gaps in services experienced by our kids and families
* Research appropriate local resources to fill service gaps
* Collaborate with programming team to ensure quality, seamless service delivery to families including resource referral, parent-skill-building, developing positive social networks and crisis intervention supports as needed
* In collaboration with Program Leadership organize events (scheduling, coordinating with hosts/caterer, preparation of materials, registrations and other projects) including but not limited to:
* quarterly caregiver cafes
* biannual caregiver panel meetings
* biannual caregiver and family engagement events
* annual alumni event
* Work closely with the Program Director to author and distribute family newsletter and other communication materials
* Work with development and program staff to coordinate back-to-school supplies, holiday gift campaigns, enrichment experiences, and other in-kind donations for the children in our program and their siblings
* Solicit, obtain and document feedback from caregivers on monthly basis
* Solicit, obtain and document feedback from alumni upon exit and annually
* Food and program supply purchases and errand running as needed
* Active participation in staff meetings and events, as required
* Assistance with surveys and data collection
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Understand family and social service resources available in the Klamath Basin
* Experience working with children and families
* Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
* Experience working with diverse constituencies
* Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail and accuracy
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Highly organized and dependable; ability to work independently and maintain composure under pressure
* Ability to maintain confidentiality, use good judgment and follow procedures
* Ability to travel locally and adapt schedule to meet the organization's needs
* Familiarity with nonprofit organizations
* Basic knowledge of event planning
* Database experience preferred
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Must pass pre-employment drug screening
* Must pass fingerprint and background checks

* Be willing to work flexible and non-traditional hours regularly to suit family and programmatic needs
* Participate in Friends of the Children training
* Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions regarding organizational issues, concerns, policies, and procedures.
* Raise and resolve issues appropriately
* The Family Engagement Assistant must provide their own child-safe vehicle and insurance; we reimburse for mileage
