Location: Hybrid (Remote + On-Site as Required)
Compensation: $85,000–$125,000 annually + Bonus (details below)
Lead and oversee all Accounting Department operations
Assist in managing relationship with Washington Federal Bank
Oversee annual budgeting and forecasting process
Produce and evaluate quarterly variance reports
Prepare year-end Profit & Loss statement and accompanying analysis
Manage year-end audit and tax preparation
Supervise customer invoicing and Accounts Receivable collection
Review and approve Accounts Payable invoices and associated functions
Review, approve, and analyze weekly payroll
Monitor all bank accounts and lines of credit
Submit wire transfers and monitor for cyber threats or security breaches
Contribute to pricing strategy and establishment by variety
Develop and implement internal office controls
Identify and execute improvements in office structure and operations
Monitor and manage inventory throughout the season
Forecast inventory availability and update sales availability regularly
During and post-harvest:
Confirm plant inventory
Update availability
Monitor plant temperatures in trim sheds, coolers, and trucks
Forecast harvest and transportation needs across all districts (Baja, FL, CA, etc.)
Monitor yield and quality throughout harvest season
Assist in coordinating harvest trucking logistics
Manage plant transfers, export documentation, and border crossings
Communicate arrivals and updates to customers
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth
Design and analyze detailed cost reports, including:
Planting
Cultural practices
Harvest
Shipping
Housing
Cooling
Generations
Lead development of Direct-to-Consumer Initiative (e.g., website, packaging, customer management)
Identify and apply for government funding opportunities
Support housing and H2A program development
Track and analyze ranch tests and performance data
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
5+ years of proven experience in a CFO, Controller, or equivalent role
Experience with QuickBooks and DataTech preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced skills in Excel required
Strong IT knowledge
Must be adaptable, open to risk/change, and comfortable managing diverse responsibilities
Salary Range: $85,000 – $125,000 annually (DOE)
Annual Bonus: Eligible after Year 1
Bonus = 15% of current salary if company achieves 6% net margin after depreciation and taxes
Remote Work Flexibility:
Remote work allowed for most of the year
On-site presence required during:
Harvest Season: Late September – Mid November
First 2 Weeks of Planting: Mid March – Mid April
One Week per Month: During growing season (Mid March – Mid November)
