Department Summary

The Office of the Registrar supports the instructional and student progress endeavors of Oregon Tech by providing quality services to students, faculty, academic and administrative departments, and the public. We supervise registration and the evaluation of transfer credit, maintain student academic records and record grades, issue transcripts, verify enrollment and graduation, issue diplomas, assign classrooms, produce the class schedule, schedule final examinations, provide services to veterans, and oversee production of the SIS system. We put a premium on service and will continually strive to improve these services.

Position Summary

The Registrar's Office Technology Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing student success by managing core academic processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student records, and overseeing key student information systems as well as acting as the liaison with Educational Partnerships and Outreach. The specialist also serves as a system administrator for DegreeWorks, programming and maintaining degree audits while supporting software upgrades and training initiatives.

The role delivers high-level customer service to students, faculty, and staff by resolving issues related to registration, student data, and academic policies. The specialist coordinates academic scheduling across multiple campuses, manages access to student systems in accordance with FERPA regulations, and leads data integrity efforts through monitoring and error resolution. They also contribute to ad hoc reporting, assist with software training, and support the Registrar's Office through technology-related research and continuous process improvement.

Minimum Requirements

Two years of technical or professional-level experience advising and/or instructing the public concerning specific programs or processes, monitoring programs, or performing participant reviews.

Additional Requirements

* Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

* Experience using Microsoft Office suite including Word and Outlook and internet browsers.

* Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a Registrar's Office in Higher Education.

* Experience using Banner SIS.

* Experience creating training materials in print and video.
