JOB SUMMARY
The Front Desk represents the College as its first point of contact with the public, both in-person and by phone, performing job duties while exhibiting excellent customer service. The Front Desk assists with monitoring and troubleshooting the telephone system; provides general assistance with advising and registration; stocks the reception area with up-to-date materials and keeps it organized, and ensures that reception duties are covered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Greets all guests who enter Build 9's lobby
* Answers incoming calls, directs to appropriate department to respond to caller's needs or resolves needs, if appropriate. Takes messages and responds to general inquiries.
* Checks and responds to voicemail in Ring Central. Handles or forwards calls to appropriate staff.
* Manages lobby traffic flow, monitors lobby wait times, and asks for assistance when needed during high volume times.
* Provides students and prospective students with access to appropriate general College information, registration information, and forms.
* Abides by Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regarding student records.
* Maintains an adequate supply of forms, information, College schedules, catalogs and other material.
* Ensures that the reception area is kept neat and orderly.
* Makes the lobby friendly, welcoming, and enjoyable for visitors.
* Scans documents and Student Service forms into SharePoint.
* Update students' information in students' records, when appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE
* Good interpersonal and customer service skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Able to work with a diverse variety of people under sometimes busy and stressful circumstances

* Frequently moving from stationary sitting positions to standing and walking
