Location: This is a work from hybrid/remote role. Preferred living locations are Phoenix, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Bay Area, Denver, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Atlanta - as they have sites there. Anywhere else would be fine for the right person. 40-50% travel is anticipated for this role.
Position Summary:
Client is expanding its Aerospace & Defense (A&D) vertical and is seeking a VP-level strategic leader from a DoD prime manufacturer or Tier-1 defense supplier to help drive growth, customer engagement, and market expansion within the defense sector.
This role will manage and expand key A&D accounts, align Client's supply chain and protective packaging capabilities with defense manufacturing needs, and leverage established relationships within defense procurement and supply chain organizations.
Packaging experience is not required.
Defense ecosystem credibility and relationship capital are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Account Leadership
Absorb and grow an existing Aerospace & Defense strategic account
Develop executive-level relationships within A&D primes and major suppliers
Serve as a trusted advisor to purchasing, supply chain, and program stakeholders
Build and execute account growth strategies aligned with long-term defense program objectives
Introduce Client's products and solutions to relevant decision-makers across procurement and operations functions
Supply Chain Optimization
Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to deliver scalable, reliable supply chain solutions tailored to defense production environments
Understand OEM and aftermarket program schedules and align Client's capabilities accordingly
Identify cost, efficiency, and risk-reduction opportunities within customer supply chains
Packaging & Industrial Solutions Integration
Work alongside engineering and product teams to support customized protective packaging and industrial solutions
Translate defense manufacturing requirements into actionable internal solutions
Support innovation initiatives focused on performance, sustainability, and cost improvement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with product development, procurement, operations, and finance to ensure profitable and compliant execution
Support long-cycle, relationship-driven growth strategies within complex defense procurement environments
Business Growth & Market Intelligence
Contribute to revenue and profitability growth within the Aerospace & Defense vertical
Identify expansion opportunities within primes and Tier-1 suppliers
Monitor trends across aircraft, UAV/unmanned systems, land systems, missiles, munitions, and space/satellite sectors
