Dispatch Specialist

Bring your energy and customer-first attitude to AAA Central Penn as our next Dispatch Specialist! In this fast-paced role, you'll be the friendly voice our members rely on when they need Roadside Assistance, connecting them with help through our incredible network of skilled contractors. You'll also get to share all the great products and services AAA Central Penn offershelping members stay safe, confident, and ready for the road ahead.

The schedule for this position is Tuesday and Wednesday 8pm to 6:30am, Saturday and Sunday 8pm to 6am. This is a remote position based out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at our Progress branch. Attendance is mandatory at in-person meetings and trainings held several times a month. This position does require holidays as scheduled.

This role is considered Essential Duty Personnel and is required to work as scheduled, including weekends and holidays, regardless of weather conditions.

What You'll Do as a Dispatch Specialist

  • Be the hero behind the scenes! Oversee the full roadside assistance experience, providing timely follow-ups and empathetic, urgent support when our members need it most.
  • Connect the dots with confidence. Dispatch requests to our trusted contractors, giving them all the details they needfrom the situation and vehicle issue to exact location and anything else that keeps service smooth and efficient.
  • Think on your feet. Prioritize calls based on safety, urgency, weather, and traffic to get help where it's needed fastest. Safety is always your top priority, especially during emergencies.
  • Master the art of clear communication. Gather information accurately and share it in a concise, easy-to-understand way.
  • Keep members in the loop. Explain solutions, safety tips, covered benefits, weather-related service alternatives, repair options, and any additional chargesso there are no surprises.
  • Stay one step ahead. Provide updates on any changes to their service, ensuring members always know what's happening.
  • Deliver outstanding serviceevery time. Handle each interaction professionally and positively, following AAA Central Penn's "one-call" service philosophy.
  • Build strong partnerships. Foster great relationships with our contractor network to make sure members receive quick, reliable, high-quality service.

What You Bring to the Team

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • People-first experience. Previous customer service or call-center experience is a plusif you love helping others, you'll feel right at home!
  • Top-notch listening skills. You're great at hearing what people really need, asking thoughtful follow-up questions, and capturing accurate details every time.
  • Communication superpowers. Whether it's by phone, email, or live chat, you know how to connect with people clearly, professionally, and with a friendly tone.
  • Tech-savvy mindset. You're comfortable navigating multiple computer systems at once and learning new tools quickly.
  • Smart problem-solving. You can spot issues, think through solutions, and make logical decisions that lead to an exceptional member experience.
  • Remote-ready. This is a work-from-home role, so reliable internet connectivity is a must.
