Provides service that is appropriate for age related differences. Assists customers with product location in a courteous and efficient manner. Maintains the clerk and customer area in a neat and orderly manner. Performs cash register duties as assigned to ensure correct financial transactions. Efficiently operates cash register including cash, checks, charges, payroll deduct and credits, Maintains documentation of the register and assists in deposit preparation. Maintains a balanced register on a consistent basis. Performs other technical and clerical duties as necessary for the daily operation of the Pharmacy department. This position reports to the Director, Pharmacy Services and Retail Pharmacy Supervisor.QualificationsRequired: Basic math skills and ability to prioritize multiple functions. Good with people. Able to communicate effectively. Professional attitude. Must be able to deal with hostile or upset individuals. High School diploma or equivalent; knowledge of the metric system; typing skills; Manual dexterity; follow oral and written instructions; attention to detail with accuracy and efficiency; perform mathematical proportion problems.Preferred: Previous pharmacy experience and previous clerk experience. Previous health care experience especially in a pharmacy.Typical Physical/Mental DemandsMedium demands for push/pull/lifting work; able to lift 30 pounds; stand for long periods. Removes outdated medications in the pharmacy and from assigned units.
