Description
The Career Services Center Student Worker provides front desk, office, resource organization, student outreach, and event support for the KCC Career Services Center. The student worker helps maintain Career Center resources, assists students and visitors, supports career-related outreach and events, and helps ensure the Career Center is organized, welcoming, and accessible to students.

The Student Worker provides temporary, part-time support to Klamath Community College departments through a variety of administrative, operational, academic, technical, customer service, or program-related activities. Duties will vary based on the needs of the department and the specific position.

This is a temporary, as-needed/scheduled position of up to 20 hours per week. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours, and actual hours worked will vary based on departmental needs, student availability, and the established work schedule.

Student Workers are expected to perform assigned duties responsibly, maintain confidentiality as appropriate, provide professional and courteous service, and follow Klamath Community College policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

Clothing Closet

• Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked Career Center Clothing Closet.
• Organize clothing and other professional items by size/type and assist students with accessing available resources.
• Monitor inventory and communicate when supplies or donations are needed.
• Assist with creating and distributing flyers and other promotional materials for the Clothing Closet.

Job Board & Employment Resources

• Refresh the Career Center job board regularly, with a goal of completing a thorough update at least monthly.
• Identify and research current local, regional, and student-appropriate job opportunities.
• Look for new job leads and employment resources to share with students.
• Remove outdated job postings and help keep employment information current.

Career Center Organization & Inventory

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Career Center environment.
• Return materials and supplies to their designated locations.
• Assist with inventorying Career Center supplies, resources, and materials.
• Help organize and prepare materials for student appointments, outreach, and events.

Front Desk & General Career Center Support

• Greet students, visitors, employers, and other guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to or appropriately route Career Services email inquiries.
• Assist with student sign-ins and appointment scheduling.
• Provide general information about Career Center services and appropriately refer students to Career Center staff or other campus resources when questions require additional assistance.
• Maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment when handling student information.

Student Engagement, Outreach & Events

• Assist with student outreach and engagement activities.
• Help promote Career Center services, events, workshops, job opportunities, and other career resources.
• Assist with Career Center events, career fairs, workshops, tabling, and other outreach activities.
• Help with event preparation, setup, takedown, and organization of materials.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled KCC student in good academic standing.
• Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently after receiving direction.
• Must demonstrate friendly, professional, and respectful communication with students, staff, employers, and visitors.
• Must be comfortable answering phones, greeting visitors, and communicating through email.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn Career Center systems and procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling student information.
• Customer service, office, outreach, or event experience is preferred but not required.

Supplemental Information

• Must be a currently enrolled KCC student, enrolled in 6 or more credits, and in good academic standing.
• 12 hours per week during Fall, Winter, and Spring terms (9 working weeks per term; 27 working weeks total). Student will not work during the first or last week of each term. Schedule will generally include weekday midday coverage, with availability around 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. preferred to support Career Center front desk coverage and staff lunch coverage. Remaining hours will be scheduled based on student availability,
